1958 to Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont, Londonderry, N. Ireland - We stayed in this hotel last night, Dublin crowded. We move to Cork after lunch. I was glad to know things were fairly well. You sounded quite cheerful on the phone. We had heavy rain last night. Love to you all, John

1957 Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Northland Road, Londonderry - We have enjoyed our holiday here v. much. The weather was lovely & the beach suitable for bathing. We went to Clogher Head & on to Drogheda & had supper with Cochranes on Thursday & they called here yesterday. The chat was good. We finish up with 2 services here to-morrow & home on Monday as soon as we can pack up. We have  a fire of sticks we gathered. Yours ever Cecil - I got the Irish Times at the corner P. 195? Miss Craig, Claremont, Northland Road, Londonderry - Arrived safely & it is very beautiful. Our windows look at bay & at night lights & the mountain & sea looked lovely. We called at Bangor en route & had tea. Quite a number staying in hotel. It has been papered & painted since we were here last & looks very fresh. This ? again fine with a breeze. M. wants to go to show so possibly we shall go there tomorrow. No news for home so that is good. Love Mary - our windows marked

1957 April Postmark Roma Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - Sunday, We climbed to the top of the tower, it really was quite alarming, rather higher than Blarney Castle. I hope you are well, this is a most interesting town though very tiring. Love John

1957 22nd April Postmark Brennero Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - Sunday, We spent last night in this mountain town. Very pleasant with high mountains tree? covered with snow at the top. The air is wonderful clear & fresh & a warm sun. Monday Zurich, Tuesday Brussels, Wednesday London. Thanks for letter. Love John

1957 23rd May Postmark Geneva Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - Wednesday, We have had a wonderful day at Montreux? left by boat this morning at 8.45. Got back ? at 9.20. We have had driver and come to our room. The scenery is really lovely & from the lake one has a far better view. It was a lovely warm day ? who away twelve hours. 1958 13th February Postmark London D. Graham Craig, Esq., Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - Thank you so much for your letter which I have just received, very nice of you to write. We had a wonderful day on Tuesday and everything went off well. Everyone has been so kind to us, last night we went to a very nice cocktail party at John's & Vera's & then to dinner with the Daley's, today I am going to see my dental surgeon & K. goes back to Scotland tonight. I'm staying in Cheam? I hope till Tuesday with the Cowan's, very much love to you all. Will write soon. Rita

D. G. Craig, Esq., B.A., Claremont, Northland Road, Londonderry - The scenery round here is beautiful. We take short drives in afternoon. The weather has been ideal for Mary to sit out and get stronger. We often mention you and hope you are getting out Monday. You folk should come here. Its a marvellous hotel. Mervyn

1958 11th February Postmark London - Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - At Reubens Hotel, Buckingham Palace Road, London, Monday, Arrived here this morning, good journey, train only an hour & half late, lovely mild morning here, I have been looking at the shops & got gloves for tomorrow. Kenneth is lunching with a friends at the Savoy Hotel. It was a dreadful in Edinburgh yesterday & ? on Saturday too. I do hope the snow had gone from Derry. It was awful, I know you hate it. I expect you will be thinking of us tomorrow going to the Palace. Much love, Rita

K is to speak this afternoon & do a T.V. programme, he is now busy working on what he will say. I ? round the shops today, nothing very exciting, having some awkward moments with the language up to the moment too ? to sit though I did have coffee ? this morning but only sat a quarter of an hour. 1958 8th May Postmark Edinburgh Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - We had coffee here on the way back from Eastbourne, thought you would like to see the other Londonderry, a very small place near Catterick not quite up to your Londonderry. I hope to see you soon, probably week after next, it will be grand. I hope there won't be a Railway Strike. Have been very busy this week, Russian Professor dining with us tomorrow night, Love to you all. Rita

1959 22nd June Postmark Portrush - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Northland Road, Londonderry - We are enjoying ourselves here. Lilian & Rosemary went to morning church & I went in the evening with Len Heaney & Martin Smith Raffrey. They & their wives & Karis Heaney joined us afterwards for supper. We plan to go to see you on Thursday about 4 o'c if that day would suit you. We feel one day travelling so far might be enough for us. We have contacted the Drumcorr? folk regarding this & will get them first. It was nice to see you on Thurs. Thanks for invitation ? Love Cecil

1959 1st May Postmark Harrogate, Yorkshire - D. G. Craig, Esq., Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - It has been a poor week with regards to weather. You would love the flowers in the valley gardens. We have managed a short walk here twice. I am off now to get ready for the dinner tonight. Hope to go home tomorrow. Love Rita

1958 14th August Postmark Cheltenham - Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - The weather is awful apart from one fine day, wet all the time. How are you all at Claremont? I hope all goes well. We have not managed to play any golf yet, go into Cheltenham in the morning & have a quiet day. When does A return or is she back? Oh for some dry weather. 195? 10th October Postmark Warwickshire - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - I had lunch here with Norman but not on terrace because it is pouring, the first rain here for months. I have been seeing Stratford & finally it got so wet I had to purchase a raincoat. I had a good journey over. I would rather have come in the holidays but was glad I came anyhow. Love J.

We have been to Cheddar Caves, Wells Cathedral & are on our way to Bath. The car makes all the difference in getting around. Love & good wishes, yours ever. J. & R.

1959 30th April Postmark Harrogate, Yorkshire - Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - I am sitting in the Hall waiting for Kenneths session to start, he will be glad when it is over. We had quite a pleasant drive from Nans? yesterday. The car went quite well but this morning difficult to start. Hope you are well. Love John

1959 27th May Postmark Newcastle - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont, Northland Road, Londonderry - One is often blamed for not writing when away. The time passes with one doing so many things that alas it is Wednesday ?. A hectic departure yesterday, lunch Belfast & here via Bangor about 120 miles. It was very hot motoring. Hope to go by Warrenpoint to-day & do the show to-morrow. This hotel is greatly smartened up since we were last here. The view of the mountain skyline is marvellous Love ?

1954 28th August Postmark Cillairne? - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Northland Road, Londonderry, N.I. - We had some sandwiches here for lunch & came back later & had an excellent tea. The road was very winding. Car was overhauled this morning, dirty plugs & carburettor. It was going nicely this afternoon. Lovely old church here. Beautiful day, Love Annette

195? 19th July Postmark London - Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - Artillery Mansions Hotel, 75 Victoria Street, London. We managed to get in here. London is pushed & Neill had great difficulty getting us a room. We came down on sleepers last night. The train was very bumpy, I don't think we slept much. Do hope you have good weather for your holiday. You may not get this before you leave. Very much love Rita

Cromer is 7 miles from Mundesley where we are staying, weather has been perfect since we arrived. I feel quite burnt up tonight. Are you coming to England? Love Rita

1959 11th October Postmark Llandudno - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont, Northland Road, Londonderry - Good crossing, motored here slowly leaving Liverpool 8.30. Had coffee at St. Asaph? Not many in hotel. Lockyer's? is closed. We took a walk through into town and many agreed the shops are very fine. I fear the theatres are over. We had terrible trouble getting the car to the right dock. We were told it would go Cargo. When we got to the cargo dock they sent us to the passenger berth. Back & forward like shuttle-cocks. 1958 18th August Postmark Cheltenham - J. L. Mc. C. Craig, Esq., Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - At Rossley Manor Country Club - Thank you so much for your letter. I was so glad to hear from you. We are enjoying the change & rest here very much but weather is not too good, we have had several dry days but no sun. Cheltenham looks nice but we have not seen many familiar faces. I am going to try & play golf today at least I may hit the ball a few times, who knows. Much love, Rita

1957 5th September Postmark Orkney - Mrs. Craig, Claremont House, Londonderry, N. Ireland - We are staying tonight at he Hotel on left of picture, arrived by air from Aberdeen this morning, it is a lovely day. The party have gone to look at Hospitals & I am looking at the Cathedral & shops. Very sorry I can't make it next week but hope to try & come over to see you in October if you will let me know when A. goes on holiday. Very much love Rita

Postmark Londonderry - Mrs. E. E. G. Craig, Claremont House, Northland Road, Londonderry - Lilian & I are out for a wee walk & thought you mightn't know that we intend leaving on Friday afternoon.
