1) Dear Effie, At last I am answering your P.P.C.'S which were so nice I
think a lot about them I am glad your grand mother liked the little
traces(?) I am sending her on some more. Lizzie is keeping well & wishes to
be remembered to you both, her children have not been keeping well but they
are a lot better now thank God, Joe has left School now and working, he is
from 6 in the morning till six in the evening ?

4) Dear Effie got your Cards today the are lovely had a good time coming

5) on Saturday that a cousin ? Mr. Tom Barr has been wounded at war in
France got four bullets. Kate husband is at France also in the firing line.

card. Which I received some time ago. Glad to see by it that you's are all
well. I am sending you a little remembrance of a camisole yoke, hope it will
please you I dont it myself. Perhaps it may be for the wedding. As I hope it
will. How is my friend Mr. Moore getting on. Tell him I am asking for him. I
had a letter from Mac she said she was round seeing you's. Remember me to

2) To-day Thur is day for Dro- & I am afraid it will be to wet. Miss Kee is
coming up Sun- first & you must be sure & come about 15 to 6 in the evg if
all is well & I will go to the far cross roads. I hope the war will have
abated by Sun- What about the Volunteers & Sir Edward is going to use them
to the best advantage these days are looking serious I hope & trust you wont
have to go to keep garrison. Be sure to come Sun- as they may be lots of
changes before that yet. God only knows what is in store for all of us.

2) Dear Moore, Grannie is fairly well considering, we had to be up no night
since she took one turn but not near so bad so I believe she well worry
round for a little Poor Bob Stinson I felt so sorry for him he won't have a

were indeed very beautiful. I can't get any nice ones here. I must thank you
again for your present, I gave Chris a bit, she was delighted, she was at a
party out a Bishop Briggs on New Years night, we had a lot of people up
first footing us, we had a splendid time, Davie Carr was up so I expect you

see how you are all getting on. I'm doing fine. Miss Hegarty is very nice to
me, she gives me potatoes every day & also provides the milk all for 2/6 a
