July? 1930?
We were so pleased when the word came to tell us he would be home. It
was 2 weeks from the time we got the cable till he arrived here. His
wound is quite healed up but his shoulder aches, so I suppose it will come
against him in his work. We were lucky to get him home after all he went
through. He had an abscess in his throat coming out on the boat and had it
lanced and was very bad. I will write soon and give you all the news.
Love from Ettie

Still on crutches as the result of a war wound, Lord Rowallan, Chief Scout,
got an enthusiastic welcome from this patrol when he visited the rally of
Scouts from three counties at University Parks, Oxford. He exchanged
greetings with every Scout of the dozens of troops present.
