Photo. We went fishing here yesterday. Love P. 6) 12th September 1954 Postmark Freshwater, Isle of Wight to M. W.
Knatchbull, Esq., Carraigfoyle, Belmont Road, Belfast, N. Ireland - Compton
Bay, Saturday. Weather greatly improved down here with a fair amount of
sunshine. But it is terrible windy at the moment, and high seas are running.
We have been playing cricket at the beach regularly, and the hotel provides
the table tennis, billiards, and darts in the evening (as well as T.V.). I
have been expecting to come across a few Marlburians on this pleasant isle,
but, though we were round the island on Wednesday, we met none save one.
Maybe it was the hand of fate, divine will, or just a plain coincidence. I
shall never know, but I leave you to guess who. I hope you got my letter.
Write as soon as possible, it will be forwarded if you send it home. Hope
everything is O.K. with you. Antony

Patrick 3) 2nd September Postmark Southend-on-Sea to Miss East, Dunolly, Lower Green
Road, Rusthall - Dear Auntie, I arrived here on Monday, and the lights are
very beautiful. The Town is very big & is very much like London. When the
tide goes out it is all mud but when the tide comes up it is lovely. We have
been to the Rursaal(?) and we enjoyed it very much, we have had very fine
weather. Love from Bo 4) My Dear Eileen, I hope this Xmas greeting is not too belated but we have
been slaving and office and my "recreation" time seems to have been crowded
out with having meetings at which I have to attend as Secretary, President
or some peculiar capacity which I should never have been talked in to
occupying! The Fish Market card may take your fancy as it certainly is
characteristic of our rather colourful Town. Constantine Valley is a
beautiful district famous for vineyards. The lovely evening bag, black with
gold embroidery, has been enjoying itself immensely of late. I told you I
bought it with your 21st birthday gift. Hoping Xmas will bring you every joy
and the New Year the best of luck. Your loving Maureen 5) 26th November 194? Postmark ? to Miss Fowler, c/o Mrs. Knatchbull, Glenkendy, Fir Grove Hill, Farnham, Surrey - No letter for nearly six weeks.
