We had a very heavy head wind all the way. Very few people here, luggage arrived in good time. Bernard 'Get him a hat. Will ? ? me to stay ? James McDrunk? or Jump Wee Drunk?'

31st August 1915 Postmark Belfast to Miss Rose Rogers, Cahore, Draperstown, Co. Derry - Just a line to let you know we arrived home safely & have our unpacking & all done. We expect Mother this evening. I hope you had a nice drive home. Our train when it landed at the port was crowded so we got into a 1st class carriage. I think nearly everyone cleared out of the port that evening. I don't mind being at home as to-day has been terribly wet. I suppose you have seen everybody by this time. I had a letter to-day. The weather is very nice but a bit cold at times. There is a good many clergy in the house and other people as well. John, Rose & Maurice left the day we came so we didn't see them. 22nd June 1954 Postmark Pittsburgh, P.A. - Miss I. Rogers, Tonagh View, Draperstown, Co. Londonderry, N. Ireland - Dear Miss Rogers, Mamma and I flew from Shannon on the 29th May and arrived Idlewild New York on the 30th. Mamma enjoyed the flight and wasn't nervous. The weather is very hot and we are not used with it and leaves us both very tired. There is so much to see and do. The people are scantily clad, the women and children wear sun suits. Love Mattie

It was terrific meeting all the nuclear technologists from all over Europe and many from America. The Culham people did extremely well in their lectures, but I liked the efforts of the Americans too. The Germans have been wonderful and we were awarded every kindness. We were at a reception given by the Lord Mayor of Munich and had a great day out at a gorgeous Bavarian lake. Will write later. Derry - 3.8.69  Arrived here last night with Liam, thought to stay only one night, but have decided to stay on for our full holiday, will be more restful especially for Liam. Spent the afternoon on the strand, it was glorious, until six oc when we had a cloud burst. Paddy and the Canadian neice and nephew went back to Canada Sunday morning, leaving Dublin at 4 am.
