6) 11th March 1970 County Borough of Belfast to
the Principal, Stranmillis College of Education, Stranmillis Road,
Belfast - Dear Mr. Keith, I am writing to thank you most sincerely
for the very kind reception you accorded to the interchange teachers
and myself on Friday last. The visit was most informative and
enjoyable, and I do assure you that the trouble you took to arrange
the programme and the time you spent with us yourself was most
appreciated. I should be grateful if you would pass on our best
thanks to Miss MacMahon for making us so welcome at her home, and
for accompanying us to lunch. It was a pleasure to meet Miss
Houston, Mr. Marriott, Miss Ginn, and other members of staff and to
have the opportunity of discussing the work of the College with
them. A special word of appreciation must go to Miss Patterson
who gave so unsparingly of her time and was so willing to answer
questions. I personally enjoyed the visit immensely and might I
express the hope that this tradition of interchange teachers
visiting the College will continue under the new Principal, I take
this opportunity of wishing you, sir, a long and happy retirement.
Yours faithfully W. J. Caves, for Director of Education.
