"The Great Santini," life's best moments came in combat missions with his
F-4 Phantom jet. Now fresh out of wars, his big conflict is with his teenage
son, who has no taste for his father's brand of gung-ho action. Also starred
in the Orion Pictures release thru Warner Bros. is Blythe Danner.

1) Peter, 23, is Captain of a £2,000,000 'V' Bomber. April 25th, 1961
Par 89502-1 (C-B): Twenty-three-year-old Flying-Officer Peter Perry, of
Doddington, near March, Cambridgeshire, who took over Captaincy of a
£2,000,000 Valiant Bomber to-day (Tuesday), pictured climbing into his
aircraft this afternoon at RAF Honington, near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. In
taking over his giant aircraft he inaugurated RAF Bomber Command's new
policy of choosing much younger captains for V-Bombers. Hitherto, only the
most experienced pilots - those with 2,000-3,000 flying hours to their
credit - have been selected for this tough job.

Lt. Sam Johnstone, Co-Pilot Lt. Elsworth Kenyon, Navigator Lt. Martin

Always the Fair Sex. Northern Ireland:- Of course, the woman, Patricia
Morrison in this case - is the centre of attention, while a couple of her
co-workers, Frank McHugh (at left) and Allen Jenkins (at right), are just
two other fellows. Patricia, Frank and Allen are American Movie Players who
recently visited the American base in Northern Ireland to entertain the boys
from back home. The lads in the robes are recuperating from illnesses.

left - Goodwill Visit by U.S. Bombers. A Squadron of B29 Super
Fortresses visited Marham airfield, Norfolk, today, in return for the
goodwill mission of the Pathfinder Squadron which toured the United States
last year. New York Times Photo shows:

York N.Y. ~ Darling, I received your letters from you this week and was I
surprised. Your mother just called and told me that she had received a
letter from you. Darling you'll just have to remember mailing those letters
to me, so I'll forgive you this once but don't let it happen again. John,
how can you say that I'm forgetting about you when you know that isn't so. I
just couldn't with all the things I have to remember you by and how much I
miss you. Remember when you used to come up after work and you had those ?
on and your face was so dirty and that cap you wore, you needed a shave so
you got my face so red, gee I can go on like this for hours. I'm going over
to visit your mother Sunday and I'm taking mother along with me so you
probably have your ears burn because will be talking about you. I'll write
and tell you all about it. Am glad you get to play golf once in a while and
I sure do wish I was there to caddy for you. Still working the same shift so
all I do is work and sleep, I don't care for it and I'm looking forward to
be able to quit soon I hope, I'm so tired all the time and I feel awful but
I guess I shouldn't complain about it when I'm here and you're there. Your
mother told me that Finn? left and that Sa? is leaving soon. Well darling I
can't think of much to say so I'll close for now. Be good and take care of
