We have lovely hot weather. M. M. G. went yest. to London & to sleep
Brighton to see the Mo??? last night & hopes to be at the wedding today.
Mrs. J. Trench came to see us yest. They are with Miss Cross & go on to
Birkenhead & ?inscoles? Col. Beckett is to be buried today at Cheltenham,
was ill 1 week with a chill. I am so glad we saw niece on way here. My back
is still very sore & hurt by the treatment. Jackson better. Ellen takes

1) 20th August 1929 Postmark Southport, Lancs. to Mrs. Simms, Holmegarth,
West Avenue, Tiley, Yorks - Having a most enjoyable time here, weather is
just what we would desire. Had very nice meetings on Sunday & tonight. Mr.?
Carter is to be at Freckleton 25 miles away, Mr. Howell is going out with
others. Tomorrow eve have tea with Mrs. Wilson (who was Violet Steven) I do
trust you are still having happy times. My husband joins in love to all.

Knock, Belfast - Thanks for yours received by 2nd past. This is a lovely
day, warm and bright. Wonder what you are doing to-day? This picture shows

Lismore, Knockdene, N. Ireland - B. and I am having a lovely time in a part
of Germany known as ? Bergisdreland? We are ? into between in Remsdreid?
This land is typical of the scenery and buildings round here. Much love to

2) 10th July 1935 Postmark Inse Geimhlea? Corcai?? to Mrs. Simms, Lismore,
Knock, Belfast, N. Ireland - We had a lovely run yesterday through Armagh,
Castleblayney, Mullingar, Roscrea & Cashel, where we had our tea on the
rock. Spent the night in Cork. Went to Cobh (Queenstown) this morning & also
saw over Ford's works. Are now camped near Inchigeelagh. Love to all C. & A.

1) 27th June 1934 Postmark Harrogate, Yorks to Mrs. Simms, Lismore, 11
Knockdene Park N., Knock, Belfast - at 31 Dragon? Parade, Harrogate
24.6.34 Here we are at Harrogate. We had it very hot while at St.
Albans? but it was worse for those in London. W. is having his bathe & I am
sitting on a seat outside in the sunshine, We were at ? last evening, it is
a small ? You will be grieved to hear that Mr. Howell of Hull passed away on
Saturday, he has been poorly for some time, they were staying somewhere in
the S. of England, some name like L? & he was buried there yesterday. Thank
you for your letter which I ought to have answered ? this. With love from

2) June to Miss Simms, Rosebank, Knock, Belfast, Irelande - Thought you
would like to have this. Leaving Paris tomorrow morning. Have been walking &
driving among the shops? and main thoroughfares today, it was great fun.

1) 5th July 1937 Postmark Ko(ln) Flughafen to Mrs. Simms, Lismore, Knockdene
Park, Knock, Belfast, Irlande - 5th July 1937 Dear E., This is to
convey my greetings for the 7th? thought I'm afraid they may be a little
late. We are spending some days at Düsseldorf and have come over here to
Cologne for the day. The weather is splendid with a pleasant breeze though
yesterday and Saturday were very hot. We visited the Düsseldorf Exhibition
in which J. was much interested. It is very large and detailed, and well
situated on the banks of the Rhine. We spent nearly a fortnight in Paris,
and saw some places of interest, including Versailles, Malmaison, and
Fontainebleau, also what was finished of the Exhibition We are expecting the
good weather. affectionately C. I. ????
2) 5th April 1936 Postmark Jerusalem to Mrs. Simms, Lismore, Knockdene Park,
Belfast, Northern Ireland - Jerusalem, Sunday 5th April 1936 This is
one of the wonderful temples of Egypt. We endured there some days 92° in the
shade now in J. The scenes are thrilling. Hope to go on by motor-car
tomorrow to Gali? DV Nazareth, etc. We can see so much without fatigue,
having a draysman? to show us everything. Am enjoying everything. Palestine
has a character of its own. People very agreeable & all seem to live
together amicably, ??????? ( ?? denominations) Great p? today, in ? of ?.

Park, Knock, Belfast - Boscastle We are much enjoying a week's visit
to this district, staying in a little old cottage; last week we were in
Bude! I hope you will all get good Holidays. Thank you much for letter

2) May 30th Postmark Genova, Ferrovia to Mrs. Simms, Lismore, Knockdene
Park, Knock, Belfast, Irlande - Genova May 30th. We have arrived here this
morning & John is enjoying himself & looking much better already. He says he
is glad he came!! It is my first visit & I think the city is most
beautifully set among the hills. It was very hot coming through France

the nice card with the photos in it, and the poetry. I ought to reply in
verse, but do not feel competent so please excuse me. The ? ? is a very
interesting spot. It has been dug clear of soil and rubbish that has buried
it for ages. ? is teeming with remnants of past grandeur. Hoping you are all

over 5,000 ft above sea level and can see mountain peaks on all sides. We
have this view from our windows only we are a little over to the right. I

Ireland, Co. Down - I suppose you know ? ? on the Bridge of Sighs!! The
chose to spend a night in the Condemned? Cell? which is a dark dungeon that
he ? got inspiration for his poetry. We were in his dungeon, not used now,
