1) July 1947 Postmark Argyle to Mr. & Mrs. Morgan, c/o Mrs. Magill, 22 Killaughey Road, Donaghadee, N. Ireland - Mary and I arrived safely, and are enjoying ourselves so far, and the C.E. home is beautiful, also the scenery, food good and plenty, thanks for your letter I received on Thursday, hope you all are enjoying your holidays. 1) 11th July 1948 Postmark Plymouth, Devon to Mrs. H. Morgan, at Modwena Hotel, Douglas, Isle-of-Man - Many thanks for letter, glad to hear you are all enjoying yourselves. We had not too bad a crossing, the weather has been lovely & we are enjoying it all. We have spent the afternoon at Lo??, it is a very nice place, the sun has been shining all day & very hot, sands packed. You would have enjoyed it. Brian is in good form & enjoying Grandpa's company. Left K. with Jean & hope all is well & that you will have a good journey home & feel the better for your holiday. Love E. R.

1) Taken Three Days Leave  |  Got Six Days "C.B." - Mr. Harry Morgan, Dear Harry, I write you these few lines to let you know I had a letter from W. Corry & I was glad to hear from him. What do you think of this P.C., isn't it very good. I don't think you have anything like this in Belfast. Hoping all are well. From Jim

1) No. 36 - This heavy gun on the British Western front, seen in action, is a unit in the tremendous siege which we are making, "not on a place, but on the German Army."
2) No. 40 - These are the men who shortly after midnight of Sunday, July 23, 1916, took Poziéres by a splendidly dashing advance through shrapnel, shell, and machine-gun fire
3) No. 26 - "The great traditions of which we were all so proud were maintained, while the individual feats of heroism will be handed down to history." (Divisional order to London Scottish after July 1st, 1916)
4) No. 37 - Our gallant Highlanders, who love to charge the enemy to the skirl of the pipes, are fond of playing their national music is lighter mood, as seen in this picture
5) No. 32 - One of the earth-shaking howitzers on the British Western front
6) No. 39 - The training of the new army in infantry attack has been exceedingly thorough, and the picture shows a company being exercised in crossing a deep trench
7) No. 34 - "These are King's soldiers and our comrades who have fought and suffered. The best we can give them is their due." Such is the feeling of the devoted Red Cross service
8) No. 38 - The first desire of German prisoners brought into camp is to quench their thirst, and the picture shows how they rush to the water tanks

1) No. 35 - Into this battle-field grave two dead British soldiers have been reverently placed, while the Padre reads the solemn words of the Burial service
2) No. 30 - A gallant act of self-sacrifice is shown in the photograph, for the man who is carrying a wounded comrade on his back is actually under fire
3) No. 27 - The possession of a German helmet delights "Tommy" and such trophies have become very common in the Big Push. Several are worm by these smiling troops
4) No. 25 - Decoration on the field is an honour coveted by soldiers. The picture shows a brave Canadian Lance-Corporal receiving the D.C.M.
5) No. 29 - Our "Tommies" soon make themselves at home in German dug-outs when they have driven out their tenants with shell, bomb, and bayonet
6) No. 31 - Before battle, in battle, and after battle our "Tommies" are ready for a "fag." These men are lighting up after a scrap
7) No. 28 - This inspiring picture shows the men of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment cheering gaily when ordered to take turn in the trenches
8) No. 33 - The Worcester Regiment, whose colours bear the names of Marlborough's and Wellington's victories, was singled out for special mention in the battle of Ypres by Lord (then Sir John) French
