1989

16th August 1989 Lowestoft answered 18/8/89 Yes, of course I got your previous note and was DELIGHTED with your good news. Now I am even more so that you appear to be settled altho the 'new vicar' may be a bit of a problem . . . lets hope you can manage things well to yr. own satisfaction. Nothing is worse than to be UNsettled as I am at present. Last year, as you will recall from my Christmas R.R. the bishop promised to move me this summer. Ten moves in all were made in early July and my name did not appear on the list. I felt chagrined, to say the least then the V.G., John Drury of Bury, said to me at a Silver Jubilee, 'just be patient a little while longer . . . the bishop has something very nice and special and suitable for you . . .' so I am waiting. But now, by chance more or less, I have discovered where that nice and suitable place will be . . . I cant say . . its a seaside resort and even further away than Lowestoft but it has a fine house and minute church. The present incumbent is ill and retires soon . . so 'be patient' . . . I am hopefully. No news from Mourne. Busy as ever here . .  great love to you. ?
