1) 27th June 1929 Postmark London to Mr. Young, ERA? R.N., at Windsor
Castle, London from Sir Robert Stanton Woods, 3 Manchester Square, W. 1.
Welbeck 2913 - June 27, Dear Young, I missed saying Good-bye to you
Saturday? I am very grateful to you for your help and efficiency. You
made the treatment of the King a great deal easier than it would have been
without someone as efficient & willing as yourself. With kind regards and
best wishes for your future, Yours sincerely, ? Woods
2) July 1929 Postmark London to F. J. Young, Esq., 2 Serpentine Road,
Southsea, Hants from Langham, 87 Harley Street, W.1. - 3.7.29 Dear Young, I
would like to write you a word of thanks and appreciation of your help to me
during the King's illness. The installation and maintenance of the
high-power apparatus used at Craigweil required a considerable degree of
technical skill and care, not once during that time or at Windsor, did ?
Woods or I have any trouble. I shall always remember with gratitude the help
you rendered during that difficult period. Yours sincerely Frank? Howith?
3) 8th October 1930 Postmark Sandringham to Fr. Young, Esq., 1 Pelham Road,
Southsea, Hants from Sandringham (Castle?) - My Dear Mr. Young, I must
first of all apologise for not having written before to tell you the Radiant
Heat Bath arrived safely. I must congratulate you, it is really beautifully
made & thought out. The King is delighted with it & wishes me to thank you
very much indeed & he think it is excellent. The Bath arrived on Saturday
just as we were leaving & this was the first opportunity today of showing
the Bath to His Majesty, so I am sure you will understand the delay in
acknowledging it. I was sorry not to see you in London but I could not see a
chance of the King seeing it. I trust Mrs. Young & the two Boys are well
also yourself. With my kindest regards & congratulations, yours very
sincerely R. Howlett?

1) 28th May 1946 Postmark Guildford, Surrey to F. J. Young, Wentway,
Semaphore Road, Guildford from Gerald H. R. Wilson, Municipal Offices,
Guildford. - Dear Young Fred, As I was away when the time
came for you to leave this Department and I was therefore unable to say
goodbye to you, I thought I would like to write and let you know how much I
appreciate all the work you did whilst a member of my Staff. Your
transference from a technical and specialised branch of the Corporation's
service to a completely new sphere of Municipal work and, incidentally, one
which included many duties which were new even to myself, must have been a
strange up-rooting for you, and the manner in which you adapted yourself to
your new surroundings does you credit. The work which you had to do in my
Department during your five years was never easy, and at most times
extremely trying, and I shall always be grateful to you for the tactful way
in which you solved the many difficulties which must otherwise have come to
me. I hope the severance from your normal duties was not entirely
uncongenial to you, and that you feel somewhat rewarded in the success which
undoubtedly attended your efforts both in respect of the Hostels and the
British Restaurants. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, ? ? Town Clerk
