the defeated insurgents in San Domingo blew up the arsenal at Santiago.
General Dionisio Trias, the Government delegate, was amongst the killed, and
many persons were wounded. Another message reports the loss of the gunboat

1) Road Safety Congress, McNeill's Hotel, Larne. This cake was presented by
Hughes Bakery to the Road Safety Council to commemorate the Congress. A
similar cake was presented by the Mayor of Larne to the Moyle Hospital,
Larne.
2) A Road Safety stand organised by the Belfast Corporation Police Committee
in association with ROSPA attracted some 30,000 visitors at the Ideal Home
Exhibition. In the picture the High Sheriff of Belfast is seen pointing out
road casualties in the city. Also in the picture (left to right) are the
Minister of Home affairs R. W. B. McConnell and Mrs. McConnell, A. P. O. Mr.
L. A. Sinfield, and Major Megaw of Belfast Corporation)
