1) Resolution of Council, 24th March 1969 - Freedom of the Borough - Moved by the Deputy Mayor (Councillor David Holden); Seconded by Councillor John O'Mullan; Resolved: That this Council, in grateful and lasting remembrance of the noble part played by The Royal Irish Rangers and its predecessors, The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, The Royal Ulster Rifles and The Royal Irish Fusiliers, in the defence of their Country, and wishing to recognise, cement and foster the strong bonds of friendship which exist between the Town and the Regiment, confers upon the Royal Irish Rangers the Freedom of the Borough of Ballymena; and that the Corporate Seal be affixed to the necessary Deed of Grant.
