2) 23rd January 1950 from Canada to Mr. & Mrs. G. P. McClune, 34 Eastleigh Crescent, Ballyhackamore, Belfast, Nr. Ireland Sioux Lookout.  Sanatorium?  from Mrs. J. B. Cameron, Box 387 Sioux Lookout, Ontario - My Dear Bill? Belle? & all, Like you I find it difficult to find time or peace to write. I was feeling very ashamed in regards to you people, but since getting your letter don't feel so bad. I have had your xmas present wrapped since Nov., & have tried to get it finished & away to you, at this rate it will be next xmas before you get them. It's so hard to get out with the children when it is 20° - 45° below zero. But it is easing up a bit & I'll be able to do some more shopping. Jack has been doing the necessary on his way home but calls the halt at anything else. Since xmas we have all had bad colds & I had the flu but had to drag myself around. Both Stuart & Ian had worms but I got rid of them without too much trouble. I think that's when I got my cold & I took a hot bath one night to help it, then was up all night with Ian ? & did nothing but sleep for three days, but that is behind us now thank goodness, though its hard to get rid of my cough. I was sorry to hear about your trouble. I bet you ? feel greatly relieved. It is a worry & one always imagines the worst. What a relief it would be to get a clean slate. We get x-rayed here every two or three years & you are in suspense till you hear the result. They only notify the suspects? in two or three weeks but you watch the post till the time limit is up. You don't say what your going to hospital for, is it a check up or operation? Once the better weather comes we will be getting some more shops? & I'll send you some. Stuart reminds me in lots of ways of your Ian. He is ? but? Ian is the tough guy, a couple of young B's. They are gun crazy & have ? pump guns. They go hunting nearly every day. Jack gets a lot of hunting & fishing books. They know more about wild life now than I ever will. In a few years they will be away, Jack, hunting & fishing, Stuart already has his fishing rod, a friend of ours gave it to him. When he was up in the north he got it from the Indians I think, anyway he gave it to Stuart & everyone hears about it & sees it. Well Belle?, space is just about gone so I'd better shut up & give you the measurements. They are present? ones but they wont wear them till next year as the ones you gave them last year are still good. Ian, chest 24. L. (bunch of measurements) The ? was ? when that was ?, hope that is what you ? Can I be brazen & ask you for a little ? wool, Jim tried & cant? get any here, just in case of repair work. with love from us all & all the best in 1950, your loving niece? Ella
3) 6th December 1982 to Prof. John Blacking, 18 Cleaver Park, Belfast - Dear John, What a beautiful cover! Thank you very much - I think of you all, too, and collect some nice covers or postcards for you, but then no time (or mood) to write few words and to send them. I try to keep my spirit/ as well as my body/ well, although sometimes it's very difficult to fall? at all. We hope! My congratulations to Fuzeena!? with all the best - Anne?

1) I vow to thee my Country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of thy love,
The love that asks no question; the love that stands the test, That lays upon the alter, the dearest and the best.
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know,
We may not count her armies, we may not see her king; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering.
And soul by soul and silently, her shining bounds increase, And her ways a ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace.
Lord, dismiss us with Thy blessing, (writings very faded)
