1) Geo. Higgs 3/06 - Dear Florrie, This is a P.C. I promised to send to you,
I hope you won't be too severe on me when you criticise it, my reason for
not posting it is that the picture would have been smeared in the post. I
also enclose you a "Gem" Bella will explain why it is called a "Gem", I hope
you are enjoying your holiday, I did mine, & I'm going for a week end this
week, we're playing a Tennis match next Saturday in the country & I'm going
to stay until the Monday morning. I shall not be able to climb the Cave
Hill, but I expect to do some walking etc. Did you see the account of a man
being attacked by a porpoise at Irwin Island, just where Bert & I had a
swim, hard luck wasn't it. Well what of it? Kind regards to you all. Yours
etc. Geo. Higgs
2) Luke - The Baboon Boy - When a small baby was stolen by baboons while his
mother was hoeing mealies and remained untraced till years afterwards, when

handed over to a farmer in the Port Alfred district, with whom he has been
over 20 years. He has been trained to give up his simian habits and become a
useful farm hand. His age is in the region of 35 years.
