1) R.A.F. Camp, West Drayton 2 - 15th April 1937 Postmark West Drayton to Mr. & Mrs. Hutchinson, Greenholme, Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland - Dear Mum & Dad, This is just a card & a general view of the place we are staying, x marks the spot where we are quartered and just the window I am sleeping at, everything is very comfortable. 1) Jessie Matthews, the little Londoner owes much of her success to her clever dancing which earned her a part at the Palace Theatre, London, in 1923, in one of C. B. Cochran's West End productions, and later went to America where she scored an unqualified success. Turned down film offers and returned to England, and made her first film "Out of the Blue" Subsequently signed by Gaumont-British. This picture was taken in 1939. This is No. 9 of a series of 24 cards appearing in the 50 flat tins of Abdulla Cigarettes.
2) Loretta Young, made her film debut as a dancer, and was later given a small role in "Naughty but Nice." Her great chance came in 1927, when, at the age of 15, she was selected by Lon Chaney as his leading lady in "Laugh Clown, Laugh." Raised to stardom in 1932. Her films include "The Honourable Mr. Wong." "Man's Castle." and "House of Rothschild."
3) Annabella, the piquant French actress whose real name is Annabella Daneila Parola, was born in France in 1912. She was discovered by Rene Clair and has appeared in his most successful Pictures, "Le Million," "A Neus La Liberte," and "14 Juliet." Her latest film to be shown in England is "Marie." or Music?

I promised to send to you, I hope you won't be too severe on me when you criticise it, my reason for not posting it is that the picture would have been smeared in the post. I also enclose you a "Gem" Bella will explain why it is called a "Gem", I hope you are enjoying your holiday, I did mine, & I'm going for a week end this week, we're playing a Tennis match next Saturday in the country & I'm going to stay until the Monday morning. I shall not be able to climb the Cave Hill, but I expect to do some walking etc. Did you see the account of a man being attacked by a porpoise at Irwin Island, just where Bert & I had a swim, hard luck wasn't it. 2) Luke - The Baboon Boy - When a small baby was stolen by baboons while his mother was hoeing mealies and remained untraced till years afterwards, when a police patrol rescued him from a troupe of baboons. He was eventually handed over to a farmer in the Port Alfred district, with whom he has been over 20 years. He has been trained to give up his simian habits and become a useful farm hand. His age is in the region of 35 years.
