2) "Spectator" Thursday, 9th November 1995 - Holywood Maypole Star Treatment. Reaching for the stars is all in a days work for staff at a Holywood supermarket, thanks to an unusual mural by a local artist. Painter William McLelland is turning heads in the Stewarts' staff canteen with his wall painting of movie megastars from the town's American namesake - Hollywood. Now the staff from the High Street store share their teabreak with star attractions like Kevin Costner, McCauley Culkin, Pamela Anderson, Batman and Aladdin. Despite their tinsel town image the famous faces are drawn around the word which conjures up a more home town image - Holywood. The mural took East Belfast artist William, whose sister Anne works at the Holywood supermarket, over four weeks to complete. He said, "The manager wanted a mural or something in the canteen to make it a bit more attractive for the staff. "He wanted something related yo Holywood but didn't know if he wanted something scenic or something from around the town. "I just came up with this. The name in the middle gives a cross-reference between Holywood Co. Down and Hollywood U.S.A."  William (29) said the staff took a keen interest in his unusual creation as they relaxes during their lunch and tea-breaks in the store. He added, "The manager was keen to have something that was ongoing to add to the interest.  ~  (part article) Traders Rake Din View of Christmas Lights: Holywood
