this letter came with the albums
Erskine Family "Longwood", Whitehouse, Co. Antrim - John Erskine owned
"Whimbrel" a Belfast Lough One Design (No. 8) 32 ft designed by Wm. Fife, a
famous Scottish yacht designer. The boat was built by: John Hidditch
(Hilditch) of Carrickfergus in 1897. 9 were built by Hidditch (Hilditch) -
only 3 remain, all 3 have been restored incl. "Whimbrel" & they are based in
France. There are some photos of "Whimbrel" in the Albums
