Ella - Our Darling Willie
in the book these are in no particular order date-wise
I'm trying to put them in chronological order
'Our Daring Willie' was William Carter who died age 13 in in 1912?
the scan of a photo of his grave is very blurry, I think it might be in
Clones
the headstone was erected by 'The Children of the Wesleyan Sabbath School
and a few friends'
this little auto book also came with a print out of the awards for the V.C.
holder Drum Major William Kenny
and finally, there are entries for '95, I assume 1895 but Ella received this
book in 1897 so go figure?

To dear Ella, with love and best wishes for a Happy New Year. from her
loving friend Emily January 1st, 1897

3) L. McMaster Ballyhalbert 20:6:22 Only Once. I shall not pass
this way again, But far beyond earth's where and when, May I look back along
a road, Where on both sides good seed I sowed, I shall not pass this way
again, May wisdom guide my tongue, and pen, And love be mine, that so I may,
Plant roses all along my way, I shall not pass this way again, May I be
courteous to men, Faithful to friends, true to my God, A fragrance on the
path I trod. Clarence Urney. Recipe for a Day. Take a little
dash of water - cold, And a little ? of prayer, And a little bit of sunshine
gold, Dissolved in the morning air, Add to your meal some merriment, And I
thought for Kith and Kin, And then as a prime ingredient, A plenty of work
throw in, Spies it all with the essence of love, And a little whiff of play,
With a wise old Book and a look above, Complete a well spent day.

4) A. Thompson, "Homeleigh" Clones 19.5.25 There was never a sunbeam
lost, and never a drop of rain; There was never a carol sweet that was sung,
and sung in vain; There was never a noble thought, but through endless years
it lives, And never a blacksmith's blow, but an endless use it gives. There
was never a child's full laugh, or a woman's cheerful word, That did not
exalt the state where its tones were felt and heard, Know then, that it
still holds true, from the skies to the humblest soil, That there is no
wasted love, and there is no wasted toil.
5) M. Thompson, "Homeleigh" Clones 20.5.25 A little word in
kindness spoken, A motion or a tear, Has often healed the heart that's
broken, And made a friend sincere. A word - a look - has crushed to earth,
Full many a budding flower, Which, had a smile but owned its birth, Would
bless life's darkest hour. Then deem it not an idle thing, A pleasant word
to speak; The face you wear - the thoughts you bring - A heart may heal or
break. J. G. Whitter.
