Mary,it was great to see you on TV last night ! You will be inundated now. Haven't had any joy finding my late mothers half sister but I'll keep trying. My GG Grandfather John Connor is listed in the 1880 directory at 200 Argyll Street. My late mother said he was involved in the surveying of the Antrim Coast road. We didn't pay much heed at the time but I have since discovered that one of his children was born in Cushendall in 1865. The parents names are John Connor and Eleanor Brosnan and the daughter was named Ellen. Have you any idea where I could find out more about him . I know he originally came from Portumna in Co Galway, but I am intrigued as to how he got a job surveying in the Antrim area. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do it is much appreciated. Marie

My mother came from Dunmurry, my grandfather worked at Lambeg weaving for 75 years! Delighted to discover all your info, and hope to get time to explore further. Have a fairly good family tree for Bruce, and Hendersons of Ballyskeagh. Alas no relations left in NI.

I am trying to trace paintings by my grandfather R.A.Dawson who was the principal of the Art School in Belfast from about 1900 to 1919. I see you have his name mentioned so I wondered if you had any more information. Have a look at my site and if you could add a link somewhere in yours I'd be grateful as google doesn't seem to be taking a lot of notice of it.

Your site has been very interesting. I was wondering if you would contact me with a way I could ask you some questions about where to find a Bally Copeland Presb. church where my husbands great grandfather was married. The Rev. was a Rev. Cauly in abt.1860.. I have run into so many walls it isnt funny anymore. Many thanks, Sandra Dutton

This site was a great find. In attempting to locate family members on my father's side of the family I was able to identify not just my great grand parents but my great, great grand parents in the Carrickhill area of Belfast. This information has realy enhanced my search and led me to other possibly family links.

What a fabulous resource. I've found my great grandfather John Bennett in Shipbuoy St, Belfast. Sadly when I visited a few weeks ago I found it was a car park under a flyover.
Can't wait to spend longer on this website and particularly hope to find out more about William Hyde and his four daughters and two sons.

Thanks very much for doing all this work. It has been very helpful. The only thing that would help me more would be the inclusion of directories between 1881 and 1900. I saw 1887 at Linen Hall while visiting Belfast recently but it was stored off shelf, which I discovered too close to closing time (and my departure from Belfast) to ask for any subsequent years.
Thank you again.
